Michelle Keegan as a blushing bride

The ex-Corrie babe is playing a different character called Tina this time - the iconic football legend Bobby Moore's ex-wife

MICHELLE Keegan made quite the blushing bride as she got into her role as football legend Bobby Moore’s first wife, Tina, for a new ITV biopic.

The husky voiced 29-year-old is stepping back in time after the New Year to portray the original WAG in Tina and Bobby – which starts airing in January.

And Michelle looks the part as she plays the late player’s ex-wife – who married the World Cup legend in 1962.

Exclusive first official photos from the upcoming ITV three-part drama show Michelle wearing a puffy white silk and lace dress along with an extravagant veil as she re-enacts Tina and Bobby’s big day.

Scottish actor Lorne MacFagyen, 26, portrays the football star Bobby – who died on 25 February 1993 aged 51 following a battle with cancer.

Dressed in a smart suit, Lorne looks as convincing as Michelle’s Tina, with the pair showing how their lives played out together as they met in 1957, wed in ’62, and later welcomed two children.

Bobby was, of course, most famous for leading the England team to victory in the 1966 World Cup, but Michelle says the drama they have made is telling the wife’s side of the story.

“I really wanted the job,” the actress told The Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine of taking on the role.

“When I went for the read-through, Tina was there and we got on really well. She and Bobby used to live in Chigwell, which is 10 minutes away from where we live in Essex,” she continued – now living in Essex herself with husband Mark Wright.

Speaking of the drama, she continued: “It’s a love story, but there are sad elements, too. No one hears the wife’s side when the husband is so famous. It was a very emotional story.”

Tina and Bobby divorced in 1986 after splitting in 1984 – with Bobby moving on with a younger lover named Stephanie who he wed in 1991.

Also in the cast of the ITV show is Patsy Kensit who play’s Michelle’s on-screen mother, Betty Dean, who Michelle recently explained she formed a strong bond with.

“Tina was very close to her mum. They depended on each other. In a way Tina looked after her mum as much as her mum looked after her,” Michelle explained to the MailOnline.

“They were more like sisters whilst Tina was growing up. Best friends and very, very close. When her mum died I think it broke her heart,” she said.

“Patsy was sitting next to me at the read-through and throughout it she would often hold my hand. She became that mother figure and really looked after me,” Michelle revealed.

Tina and Bobby will debut on ITV on Friday 13 January 2017 at 9pm.
