Lady Gaga has revealed she has landed herself a Las Vegas residency, following on from stints by Cher, Britney Spears and Celine Dion in the US city.

The star excitedly took to social media to tell her fans, or "little monsters", the good news about her upcoming string of dates at the MGM Park Theatre, something which she described as a "lifelong dream".

"Get ready for a brand new show!! It’s been my lifelong dream to be a Las Vegas girl, I’m so overjoyed!

"LOVE YOU LITTLE MONSTERS WE DID IT, MEET ME IN Las Vegas!! #LasVegasGoesGaga."

Bruno Mars and Cher are just two of the artists who have already had residencies specifically at the MGM Park Theatre.

This is a great end to the year for Gaga, who also performed at the Super Bowl half time show in February.

And last month, reports claimed she is now engaged to boyfriend of ten months, Christian Carino, 48.

But she suffered a major setback in the autumn due to ill health, which forced her to reschedule her European tour dates.

Despite this she's remained dedicated to delivering everything she's promised to her loyal fans.

During one of her recent US gigs she stopped singing to ensure a fan who had been hit in the face could receive medical attention.

The singer has a deep understanding of suffering due to her her illness fibromyalgia, which causes agonising pain all over the body, and has previously admitted she’s worried her medical condition could stop her from starting a family.

In her Netflix, all-access documentary about her life called Gaga: Five Foot Two, the Born This Way hitmaker reveals that her fibromyalgia – and the fact she had a hip op in 2013 – will ruin her chances of having the family she craves.

She said: “I know I think I can get pregnant , but what are my hips going to do?”

She also says in the film: “I just want to go on tour and have a family.

“I never get it all right. My love life has imploded.”
