Handcuffed and smiling Weinstein charged with rape

Harvey Weinstein smirks as he is led out in cuffs from a police station after being charged with rape.

The fallen Hollywood mogul, 66, was also charged with sexual abuse as police say he attacked two women.

Earlier, Weinstein turned himself at New York's 1st Precinct station following a probe by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and the NYPD.

Carrying two books and a notepad, disgraced Weinstein walked slowly from a black SUV past crowds of reporters and TV crews.

He gave a wry smile as he ran the media gauntlet towards the front door of the station.

Weinstein — still being investigated for alleged sex crimes in London and LA — was questioned for around two hours before leaving the precinct in handcuffs flanked by two officers.

The New York Times reported that as part of his arrest agreement, Weinstein was expected to put up $1million bail and will wear a security tag.

He has also agreed to hand over his passport and his travel will be restricted, the paper said.

A special grand jury has been presented with evidence related to possible financial fraud against Weinstein.

The grand jury hearing Weinstein evidence was convened weeks ago, sources said
