Ed Teases New Album

A new Ed Sheeran album could be released within this week – and fans have already been sent into a frenzy over the news.

Following the British singer’s very big hint on Twitter earlier this week, here’s everything you need to know about Ed Sheeran’s soon-to-be released music

The Thinking Out Loud singer teased his latest project on Twitter after a one year absence last month.

In a nine second video, Ed held up a piece of paper which read: "New music coming Friday!!"

Although no date has officially been specified, many believe it will be January 6, 2017.

Even though Ed has previously tried to keep the name of his next album close to his chest, he’s now given fans a little teaser on social media.

Last year, he told Entertainment Weekly that his next album will probably not be themed on something mathematical.

His first album, +, was followed by Multiply last year.

The ginger heartthrob said: "Every title has its own theme. Multiply was called multiply because it made everything that was on plus bigger.

“From the venues to the songs to the radio plays to the sales.

“I don’t know what the theme on the next album is yet because I haven’t made it.”

It seems that Ed might have had a change of heart, as he posted a divide symbol to Twitter earlier this week.

Thousands of fans have since speculated whether his new album will be titled Divide.

Ed had teased new music in December, when he shared a cryptic tweet featuring a pale blue square.

The singer had also changed his profile picture to the blue box, and his fans were quick to reply to share their delight at his return.

Some fans immediately assumed the blue box was a clue about Ed's next album, which would be a follow up to his 2014 smash hit X.

One wrote: "OK the album will be blue... what else?"

Following the announcement of Ed’s new music, many are speculating whether or not he will perform his album at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
