Sir Bruce Forsyth’s wife Wilnelia has revealed the TV presenter is “back on his feet” after being hospitalised with a chest infection in March.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun’s Bizarre column, she revealed: “He’s doing so much better, he’s doing really well. Slowly but we are waiting for the really hot weather so we can start taking him out. He’s walking around now, slowly but he is.”
Wilnelia, Brucie’s wife of 34 years, attended the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards last night where she gushed about his favourite fare.
She added: “I am a big foodie, I did a Cordon Bleu course a long time ago when I married my husband. “He wanted to make sure I could cook. He sent me on the course. I am cooking lots of his favourite meals at the moment, which is helping.”
Bruce spent five nights in intensive care in March after being rushed to hospital with a chest infection.
He has suffered a number of health issues in recent years, including a fall in 2015 which saw him rushed to hospital and subsequent surgery for two life-threatening aneurysms.
In an interview on Good Morning Britain in March, Brucie’s pal Jimmy Tarbuck revealed the star was “perkier” after returning home.
He said: “He’s getting perkier, which is a great thing.
“The country thought Bruce Forsyth was 35.
"He thought he was 35 with his energy, but you've got to remember he has had an aneurysm.
"But it's because he's so young at heart.
"He said yesterday he's very lucky he's got dancers' legs and that's helped him - he's walking again and he's very happy with that."
