A Bodyguard trailer has teased that David Budd will be arrested for assassinating Home Secretary Julia Montague.
A sneak peek from tonight's dramatic finale sees the PC (Richard Madden) in a stand-off with police while covered in blood.
A first look sees David in the line of fire. Viewers have been gripped over the last few weeks trying to work out who was behind the bomb that killed Julia (Keeley Hawes).
David has been desperately trying to work out what happened, but the trailer for next week’s finale seems to suggest the finger will be pointed at him.
The trailer begins with what appears to be a flashback of Julia prior to her death.
Her replacement Mike Travis is then seen meeting with MI5 head honcho Stephen Hunter-Dunn.
Mike (played by Vincent Franklin) can be heard saying rather sinisterly: “Look no further for Julia’s assassin” as a bloodied Budd appeared on screen.
Next it flashes to DS Louise Rayburn (Nina Toussaint-White) who looks shocked as she says it has been “an inside man all along”.
It then turns to Budd in a dramatic stand-off with armoured police.
His boss CG Lorraine Craddock (Pippa Haywood) can be heard pleading with him to surrender, begging: “Give yourself up.”
At that point David looks utterly exhausted and admits: “It’s over.”
The trailer ends with a clip of David loading a gun while wearing a pair of blue gloves, but is he really behind her killing?
During the last episode fans of the show learnt the Julia was secretly blackmailing the Prime Minister and that the security service was hunting her ‘kompromat’ with all the details of his murky past on it.
But by the end of the hour, David discovered where it had been stored. But what will he do with the information?
Meanwhile, sacked PR girl Chanel and her criminal boyfriend resurfaced by ‘coincidentally’ bumping into David in a coffee shop – but what is her involvement?
And it turns out that the bomb wasn't in the briefcase after all.
