McFly star Danny Jones and his wife Georgia have announced the birth of their first child.

Danny posted a shot on Instagram of the couple holding the baby boy's tiny foot.

He captioned the shot: "So overwhelmed with love, welcome to earth Cooper Alf Jones born today 1:36am?."

The singer and guitarist told Hello: "He's ace, so adorable and we can't stop staring at him."

The star also took to his Twitter to thank fans for their messages of support.

He said: "@thegeorgiaedit is doing brilliant and she was ACE all the way through. So proud.?"

Danny and Georgia revealed their pregnancy news last summer with Danny predicting they were having a baby son.

Speaking to Hello, he said: "I think we’re having a boy. I'm going to be a mess at the birth – when I find out if we have a son or a daughter, when I meet him or her.

"I'd love to know but we’ve decided we want to have that big surprise."

Model Georgia added: "They are going to need a mop for our tears in the delivery room – we are going to be so emotional.

"Even when we walked in for the first scan I started crying. All they'd said to us was hello."

The couple - who married in August 2014 - said Georgia got pregnant at Palm Springs where the couple were attending the Coachella Festival.

Danny tweeted: "Mini Jones coming soon" while Georgia added: "We're so happy to announce our news."
