Two police officers injured by man with knife in Bradford

It happened at a house in The Grove, Idle this morning.

Two police officers have been assaulted by a man with a knife at a house in Bradford.

It happened at around 8.30am this morning, when officers went to an address in The Grove, Idle to locate a wanted man.

The injured officers were taken to hospital for treatment, but their injuries are not life threatening.

A man has been arrested and taken into custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell, said:

“Officers from Bradford District CID are continuing enquiries into this incident, which is being treated as an isolated matter.

“Local officers have been deployed into the area to provide reassurance and anyone with concerns is advised to speak with them.

“West Yorkshire Police will not tolerate assaults on its officers and has introduced a range of measures under the Assaults on Emergency Services Act to assist with these matters.”
