Victim named in Brighouse murder investigation

Two men aged 44 and 32 and a 52-year-old woman remain in police custody.


Police have confirmed the identity of a man who died in Brighouse on Monday.

Mathew Kitcher 33, from Rastrick was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.

Police have arrested three people on suspicion of murder after a Kitcher was found in Brighouse with serious head injuries on Monday (6/4) morning.

Officers were called at 1.36am by the ambulance service to Thornes Park.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Nicholson of Protective Services (Crime) is leading the investigation.

‘If anyone saw any suspicious activity in or around Thornes Park late on Sunday night or early on Monday morning then please get in contact.

‘A man has sadly lost his life and I want to know what happened and why.

‘A scene remains in place whilst extensive enquiries are carried out.’
