RSPCA rescue goat found wandering around Bradford

They tracked the animal down to a bus stop on Gain Lane.

A lost billy goat had to be rescued by the RSPCA after he was found wandering the streets of Bradford with overgrown hooves yesterday evening.

The large white goat caused quite a stir in the town and officers from the animal welfare charity were called to help - eventually tracking him down to a bus stop on Gain Lane.

It is not clear how the poor goat ended up on the street but he was finding it difficult to walk on his very long hooves.

Inspector Emily Stodart said:

“We just don’t know where this goat came from or how he came to be lost in Bradford. It’s certainly not something you see every day!

“When we first got a call he was found loose in someone’s garden - just helping himself to a snack and munching on the grass. When we got there, we found he had been making his way through a few gardens before stopping at the bus stop.”

She said: “He was quite lively and I had to call one of my colleagues for help as he would not stop head-butting me! In the end we managed to get him into the van and we took him straight to a specialist boarding facility where he is safe and waiting for a much needed pedicure!”

Emily added: “He is distinctive, especially with his very large horns, and you don’t see many goats in Bradford so we are hoping someone will recognise him and be able to tell us where he has come from.”

If you recognise the goat or have any information about where he has come from please contact the RSPCA Inspector Appeal Line on 0300 123 8018.
