(13/5) A 30-year-old man is due to appear in court this morning following an incident in Cleckheaton on Monday.
Drew Trudgill, of Turnsteads Drive, has been charged with two counts of false imprisonment and two counts of making threats to kill.
He will appear before Leeds Magistrates Court this morning.
(12/5) Detectives are investigating an incident in which two people were assaulted in a house in Cleckheaton.
Police were called at around 4.20pm on Monday 11 May 2020 to a house on Turnsteads Drive after concerns were raised for the welfare of two people inside the property.
Armed officers attended and forced entry.
A 30-year-old man was arrested from the scene and remains in police custody, on suspicion of false imprisonment and assault.
A woman in her 30s who was inside the property was treated for a minor stab wound to her leg and a man in his 40s received minor injuries.
DI Andrew Lockwood of Kirklees CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident this morning and are holding a man in custody.
“Due to the nature of the reports we received, armed officers were deployed and specialist police tactics were used by officers to enter the property.
“We do currently believe this was an isolated, targeted offence and we are working to support the victims as our enquiries continue.
“Reassurance patrols will be ongoing in the local area today by Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team officers.”
