Huge Fire Burns On Marsden Moor

The National Trust posted on Facebook to say: "This fire was caused by people using a BBQ at Easter Gate.

Firefighters from West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester are still tackling a huge fire on Marsden Moor.

It's on land owned by the National Trust and started on Sunday night.

It comes just days after a blaze on Ilkley Moor.

The National Trust posted on Facebook to say: "This fire was caused by people using a BBQ at Easter Gate.

"This is very sad news given how dry the moorland vegetation is.

"This is the 6th fire we have had this year."

A helicopter has been helping fire teams to dump water on the areas on fire with teams expected to be on the moor until at least Thursday.

The public is being advised to keep away from the affected areas if possible.

There are also a number of road closures in place, get all the travel details here.
