Huddersfield In The Lead To Get Monopoly Honour

The winning location will be announced in the spring, with its' very own official MONOPOLY game hitting shop shelves this October.

With just a few weeks left to vote, Huddersfield are still well in the lead in their fight with Halifax to get their own Monopoly board.

Currently 64% of people who have taken part in the competition have voted for Huddersfield.

36% have plucked for Halifax.

The games' bosses sat Emley Moor Mast and St George's Square are the most popular suggestions for new squares. Quality Street, Eureka and The Piece Hall are also well-backed.

One person has also suggest a Compo playing piece should Huddersfield get it - to recognise the Last of the Summer Wine connection.

Emma Lodwick, from makers Winning Moves UK,  said: "The factors that will decide are two-fold. Firstly the strength of popular feeling and pride for Halifax or Huddersfield. Secondly, the diversity and beauty of potential landmarks to fill the game."

The winning location, which will be announced in the spring, will be guaranteed to 'Pass GO' to land its' very own official MONOPOLY game which will hit shop shelves this October.
