Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident on Wednesday (25/7).

Two high value Peregrine Falcons have been stolen during a burglary in the Crosland Moor area of Huddersfield on Wednesday evening (24/07) between 4pm and 11pm.

Police are appealing for information as to the location of the two birds and any details as to those responsible for their theft.

Both Falcons are registered and have a unique identification number on a ‘ring’ attached on their leg.

PSCO Jason Appleyard of the Huddersfield Neighbourhood Policing team said:

“It is highly likely that the culprits have knowledge of these type of birds and have intentionally targeted them.

“They may attempt to sell them on to other keepers of birds of prey and I would encourage anyone who is approached to get in touch".
