Nearly half a million pounds of funding to go towards providing support to victims and survivors
Nearly half a million pounds to go to West Yorkshire services from the Ministry of Justice Commissioning of Victims services Fund.
Each of the five local authorities will receive £25,000 for their respective community safety partnerships for local projects.
Over £100,000 will be going to Bradford’s new integrated sexual and domestic abuse support services.
These services included initial and continued support for survivors and victims. Three Rape Crisis centres will receive £50,000 with Kirklees and Calderdale receiving an additional £9,000.
The funding goes along side one of West Yorkshires key pledges to put the victims first. One in four women will be subject to domestic abuse in their lifetime with nearly half of assaults being repeats.
