Another vehicle damaged in Bradford as police investigate 'targeted attacks'

Officers believe it could be linked to similar incidents on Monday - where two other cars and a house were damaged in the district.

Police are appealing for information following an incident where a vehicle was found damaged in Bradford.

At around 8.15pm on Tuesday reports were received of a vehicle being damaged in Whitby Road by males with weapons who then left in three vehicles.

Armed officers were deployed to the area and found a Vauxhall Astra with its windows smashed.

Enquiries suggest this is linked to an incident in Agar Street on Monday night, where damage was caused to a house and a parked car and one on Round Thorn Place earlier that evening, where a car was damaged by fire.

Two men have been arrested in connection with this investigation and have been released on bail for enquiries to continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell, of Bradford District Police, said:

“We believe these three incidents are all connected to the same matter and a dedicated investigation by Bradford District CID to identify those responsible is continuing.

“These are being treated as targeted attacks and there is not believed to be a wider risk to the community at this time.

“Our patrol plans have been reviewed following this latest incident and officers will be in the area to speak to, should anyone have concerns about this matter, or crime in general.

“We are also appealing for anyone with information about what happened in any of these incidents to contact us, so we can progress our enquiries and take appropriate action.”

Anyone with information can contact Bradford District CID on 101 or via the options on the West Yorkshire Police website.

Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers.
