Second Annual Ronan Costello Memorial Festival

Ronan Costello

"We want the festival to be fun for all and a real celebration of Ronan’s life.”

The second annual Ronan Costello Memorial Festival returns on Thursday night to mark two years since the tragic death of the Huddersfield Giants youngster.

The momentous festival will be held at Leeds Road playing fields from 6-8pm in celebration of Ronan’s life.

The festival aims to see over 150 children attend from community clubs across Kirklees and surrounding areas including under 7s, under 8s and under 9s to take part in a tournament. The event will also be supported by Giants club Ambassador Eorl Crabtree and members of the first team.

Huddersfield Giants Community Manager, Chris Cullimore, who coached Ronan for two years, told the club's official website: “This year the aim is to make it bigger and better than last year. We want to bring the community together at what is a difficult time for all, doing something that he loved, playing the Sport of Rugby League.

"We want the festival to be fun for all and a real celebration of Ronan’s life.”
