Poyet: 'City Pitch Is One Of Worst In The Country'

Sunderland manager predicts a more direct style of football for their FA Cup tie at Bradford City.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet slaughtered the Coral Windows Stadium pitch in his post-match press conference on Tuesday night.

The Uruguayan was speaking after the Black Cats set up an FA Cup fifth round tie with the Bantams on February 15.

They beat Fulham 3-1 in their fourth round replay.

Poyet said: "It's going to be tough after what they did [against Chelsea] which was quite incredible.

"We are already talking about the pitch which, as everyone knows, is one of the worst in the country.

"It won't be a passing football game. We might need to play more direct.

"But there is nothing we can do. I am sure Bradford City are not happy with the pitch either- it is not just a problem for us."

Full match commentary of the game on February 15 will be on Pulse 1 Sport. Jason Thornton and Ian Ormondroyd will be on air from 1.30pm.
