Parkinson: Postponing Was The Right Call

Bradford City's cup game against Barnsley falls victim to the weather.

Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson says postponing their Johnstone's Paint Trophy game against Barnsley on Tuesday night was the right decision.

Torrential rain made the Coral Windows Stadium pitch unplayable.

The referee called the game off just before the scheduled kick-off.

Parkinson told Pulse 1 Sport after the postponement: "We don't want to pick up an injury for the sake of playing the game.

"Obviously sorry for all the fans that have come down, but we'll have to play it when we can and hopefully get through."

"With no game, we have to make sure we keep on top of the lads while giving them a bit of a break at some point.

"But we have to make sure that we go into the next game against Doncaster all guns blazing."

Exclusive commentary of that game against Doncaster will be on Pulse 1 Sport.
