Parkinson: 'A Professional Game Shouldn't Have Been Played On That Pitch'

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson criticised the poor pitch following their 1-1 draw with Colchester.

The game was nearly called off two hours before kick-off, but the referee allowed it to go ahead.

Heavy snow covered the pitch all week and the covers were only removed the morning of the game.

Parkinson said: "A professional game shouldn't have been played on that pitch.

"The ground staff have been working their socks off, but it's the lack of help they've been given by the board.

"Three months ago at a board meeting, I said 'it's terrible and is cutting away when the boys are turning'.

"I said 'we need to do something about it'- and nothing was done".
