Jackson Makes It Five For City

Jackson Longridge

Bradford City have signed defender Jackson Longridge, their fifth signing of the summer.

The left-back has agreed a two-year contract and arrives from Dunfermline Athletic.

The Scot, 24, boasts an established career north of the border, having enjoyed spells at Livingston, Stranraer and Ayr United - in addition to his time at East End Park.

Longridge said: “As soon as I heard about the interest from the club it was a no-brainer for me.

“I could not wait to come down and get signed - I am really pleased.

“I am looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and seeing how the recruitment goes from here.

“This is a very strong club and we need to get it back to where it belongs.

“I am excited to see the supporters and, hopefully, we can do them proud.

“After speaking with the manager, he has made it clear I am the kind of player he is looking for.

“He has given me a chance I am very grateful for. It is up to me now to prove him right.”

City manager Gary Bowyer added: “We are delighted to bring Jacko here. He attracted a lot of interest - both in Scotland and England.

“At 24 years old he has a lot of experience. He is a modern-day full-back, who loves to get forward.

“When meeting him and speaking to people who have worked with him and played against him, it was clear he is focused on making the most of this opportunity.

“He has the potential to really kick on and I am excited to be working with him.”
