Huddersfield Town has allowed Spanish striker Cristian Lopez to join Northampton Town on an Emergency Loan for the remainder of the season.
The 24 year-old signed a one year contract at Town in the summer following a successful trial period, but has only made four appearances as a substitute for the First Team this term.
Cristian will now join Northampton Town on loan for the rest of the season. Although the Cobblers are currently in the League 2 relegation zone, they have been in good form since former Oxford United boss Chris Wilder took over in late January and head into Saturday’s game at home to Mansfield Town on a five game unbeaten streak.
Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins commented:
“Cristian is a superb professional and has worked very hard, but his opportunities have been limited this season. We took him on after his trial period, but he hasn’t been able to force himself into our team.
“We have talked to Cristian and want to give him every chance to impress others ahead of next season. This loan spell at Northampton Town gives him the opportunity.
“I know Chris Wilder well and I’m confident he will continue the upturn in form at Northampton and guide them to safety. Hopefully Cristian can help them do that and impress during his loan there. We wish him well.”
