Giants' Hughes To Join Warrington For 2016

Jack Hughes

Forward, on loan from Wigan, signs a two-year deal with the Wolves.

Huddersfield forward Jack Hughes has signed a two-year deal at Warrington and will join the Super League club at the start of the 2016 season.

The 23-year-old Wigan back-rower has spent the current campaign on loan at the Giants from Wigan, playing in every match to help them secure fourth spot in the table - going into the Super 8s.

Hughes will join Warrington’s other new recruits, Kurt Gidley and Tom Lineham, ahead of next season, and coach Tony Smith is happy to have tempted the former Wigan academy player to the Wolves.

He said: "He's a terrific young British player and I have a lot of time for Jack.
"He has had a very, very good year. He's a big, strapping lad who has a strong desire to play for our club and I think he's got a really healthy future.

"He is a potential England representative in the near future and we are hoping to help him on that route to achieve this.

"I think he's going to play a really big role in our future and will give us a lot of depth in our back-row, as well as his versatility to play in the backs."

Hughes added: "I am proud to be joining this great club. I look forward to giving my best in the seasons to come, working with the squad in the off-season."
