Keith Mason speaks to Pulse Sport about his acting debut in Skin Traffik alongside Mickey Rourke.
Keith Mason is well known for his talent on the rugby field for Huddersfield Giants among others, but is about to be known for a new career on the big screen.
A chance meeting with the Oscar nominated star Mickey Rourke has given Mason the option of a totally unexpected career, as an actor.
It was a chance meeting in 2009 in London, that lead to Mickey Rourke and Keith’s friendship. Now whenever Mickey visits London the two will meet and Keith has also spent time with Mickey at his New York and Beverly Hills homes.
Just a few days after winning his court case for unfair dismissal Mickey suggested to Keith that he act in his new film Skin Traffik, despite never setting foot on a film set before, Keith accepted. Keith joins an all-star cast in this upcoming feature and plays Mickey’s bodyguard Mr Steiner.
This spontaneous request has now lead to further film offers.
Keith told us: "I had more lines that Arnold Schwarzenegger did in the first Terminator movie.
"I had lines in my first movie, and to play alongside Mickey Rourke as his bodyguard is not bad for my CV. So it would be very foolish of me to sit back now an relax.
"I am optimistic about it [the acting career] and looking forward to the future."
