Police are questioning a man who caused the match between Huddersfield Town and Liverpool to be stopped on Wednesday night.
The game was a pre-season match for the inaugural Bill Shankly Trophy. Liverpool won 2-0.
21,000 packed the John Smiths Stadium to see the game.
Around an hour into the match a drone was seen being flown in to the stadium and the referee took the decision to briefly stop the match on grounds of safety.
Police officers were quickly deployed to the immediate area. The pilot was identified and the drone recovered.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Enquiries are ongoing.
