Cougars To Name Stand After Danny Jones

Club also say this Sunday's game will go ahead.

Keighley Cougars say they will re-name at stand at Cougar Park 'The Danny Jones Stand'.

The 29-year-old died on Sunday after complaining of chest pains during their game at London Scholars.

He passed away later in hospital after an apparent cardiac arrest.

There was debate over whether this Sunday's game should go ahead by Jones' family have asked the club that it should do.

They also say one third of gate receipts will go to the benevolent fund set up for his young family.

 

In a statement, they said: "Please make every effort to fill Cougar Park on 10th May.

"We will update everyone on the format of the day in due course."

The number 6 jersey has also been retired in his memory.
