UK booze suppliers have warned that wine prices could soar as soon as March, thanks to a shortage on bottles.

Box it: You may love the “pop” of a cork, but switching from bottle to box could save you dosh and get your more bang for your buck. Fan of a medium dry white? Try switching from popular Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, £9 for 75cl at Sainsbury’s, for Tesco Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, £12.75 for 2.25Ltr - you get three times as much, for just £4.25 more.

Screw it: You may not fancy switching to cheaper, screw top wine, as it has a tendency to go dull and flat, but there is a way to switch, save money and improve its taste if you give it a shake.
